- My name is Fernanda Barrientos Contreras, following the Spanish naming customs (Barrientos is my dad’s last name; Contreras is my mum’s). However, people often use their paternal name only for simplicity’s sake and use both only in official paperwork. Google Scholar does not understand this and some of my work appears under my maternal name (e.g. “Contreras, FB”). I also have two middle names which no one needs to know about.
